The Ideal Saturday

Yesterday was an "Audrey" kind of day. We went for a 6.5 mile run in the morning. The trail we took had a few more hills than I planned but it was still so wonderful to be running through sage brush in the wide open dessert. Then after a leisurely lunch at home in the sun we hiked to the top of Oyster Ridge. Oyster Ridge is a massive hill, (or maybe it's mountain, I don't know) that runs along one side of Kemmerer. We've wondered what was on the other side so we had to climb to the top to find out. It was beautiful! We could see forever. In fact we could see the Wind River Mountains which are about in the middle of the state and we could see the Unita Mountains which are in Utah. Amazing! It's not every day you get to look across half a state.
A storm was rolling in as we hiked up and the clouds were incredible to watch. The pictures don't even do it justice. After our hike we ate supper at a little diner and then header home for the night. It was so nice to have time together away from everything. Praise the Lord for all the public land around us where we can get away.
