Dad's Lake Backpacking Trip




















Jadon and I went backpacking this weekend. We drove to Big Sandy trail head early on Friday and then hiked 6 miles in to Dad's Lake by noon. We stayed there for the night and then had to hike out the next day to be back for church. It was a wonderful trip. I caught three fish to Jadon's one and he claims it's a miracle.... but.... I now it's just my sheer talent :-) The mosquitos were awful and at times the dogs were a nusiance but other than that it was a wonderful trip. Here are a few pictures.

    Looks like fun - what a beautiful place! Jadon has too much fun throwing his fishing line as high as he can get it to catch any fish! :)

Tri 2XU 300

After a long winter of toughing out the cold & snow and running outside, I'm over it.  It's still winter here in Wyoming and I'm sick of it.  I don't want to do one more cold run.  I don't want to do one more hour on the elliptical.  I'm just want hot sunny days of running in shorts and getting a sun-burn.  Seriously, the thought of a sunburn actually sounds delightful.  Since the sunburn was out of the picture this week & I couldn't handle more winter runs I decided to forget about mileage for the week.  I decided to go ahead and act like a moderate runner instead of an extreme & obsessive runner.  Surprisingly, I actually enjoyed this week's lack of running and switching things up.  Back in junior high I was on the swim team and wasn't half bad, since then though I've never done a lot of swimming.  2 rounds of lifeguard training are about the extent of it.  So when I climbed in the pool for the first time in a year a...

Absolute Trust & Complete Responsibility

  Absolute trust and complete responsibility.  Those are the words that comes to mind when I think about my third birth.   After 5 years of praying for another baby, 1 miscarriage, 3 chemical pregnancies, stepping into foster care and raising other babies; we wondered when God would answer our prayer. He finally did.  Let’s go back… on September 24th, 2018, God showed me that we would have another child. We had been praying and trying for baby #3 for four months at this point.   Years of trying, praying and waiting came after.  In August of 2021 after a season of pleading with God, He told me that we would be expecting in the next month.  God was faithful and sure enough I saw a positive pregnancy test at the end of September.   This pregnancy started with absolute trust in the promises God had given me.
